It is a story writer, playwright and poet Oscar Wilde British-Irish, first published in 1887 in The Court and Society Review. In 1891 he was included in a collection of short stories entitled The Crime of Lord Arthur Saville and other stories. It has been made into a film and theater numerous times, and have been made for television and radio versions. An American family bought Canterville castle, in a beautiful location in the English countryside seven miles from Ascot, England. Hiram B. Otis moved with his family to the castle, but Lord Canterville, former owner thereof, warns that the ghost of Sir Simon de Canterville walks in the building from no less than three hundred years after murdering his wife Lady Eleonore Canterville. But Mr. Otis, modern and practical American, ignores his warnings. So, with his wife Lucretia, the eldest son Washington, the beautiful daughter Virginia and two mischievous twins move to the mansion, constantly taunting ghost because his indifference to the paranormal.
