Newlyweds appear to have a wonderful future ahead. George and Sheila are positioned for success and a great life. They relocate to Southern California and enjoy their careers, family and friends. Sheila, the artist, has the position that she always wanted and George is comfortable with his position in a financial firm. However, turmoil runs in the undercurrent of their relationship due to a tragedy. Friends and relatives intercede in the conflict that has developed between the pair and attempt to help. Also, Sheila has accused George of an infidelity with a family friend and George denies the accusation but accuses Sheila of ignoring him. The house maid, a member of the extended family for many years, seems to be implicated in the tragedy. Sheila and George view the results of the tragedy differently and level accusations at each other. The relationship between George and Sheila begins to unravel in a dramatic confrontation that has dire consequences for one of them.
