Newport, Rhode Island, 1954. The lighthearted days of summer bring a circle of friends together to celebrate life in high society. Rosemary Covington attempts to navigate deep waters that hold a sly and charming gentleman, as well as an outsider too observant for his own good. Each of them soon learns that everyone in Newport is hiding something behind the cigarette smoke and whiskey glasses.
